I am working on a follow-up to this post.
@Specialk, you are correct, complete immersion into the language for 72 hours will get you a 90% success rate. Remember though to have consistent interaction with that language to improve and to remain current.

I heard that when Special Forces need to learn a language fast, they immerse themselves completely in the language. For 72 hours, every word is spoken in that language. And it has like a 90% success rate.
